Econ Club

The Econ Club is a student run organization that is open to all students interested in the economy. We gather to discuss current economics events with an emphasis on the ‘knowledge revolution’, host economics related events with the goal of networking, landing internships, jobs, economic data visualization sessions with Tableau, and an annual networking/professional trip to Washington DC in the Fall. The purpose of the Econ Club is to share economics-related information and to explore the field, opportunities, and connect through experiences. No matter your major, understanding economics is very important, and the Econ Club will help you explore your interests. The Econ Club is a student-run organization combining academic, professional, and social activities, to foster a sense of community among SU’s students interested in, and connected to economics.

Your gift to the Econ club provides resources to create lifelong connections and professional development opportunities for students passionate about economics.

Economics

Economics is one of the most influential academic disciplines, exploring how markets function and how people make decisions. At Salisbury University, we offer two outstanding undergraduate degrees in Economics—Business Economics (BS) and Economics (BA). Both have earned STEM designation.

Our newly established Economics Department invites you to join us in empowering our students to thrive. We’ve revitalized our curriculum by adding two exciting tracks—Quantitative Economics and Environmental Economics—alongside our traditional track. Beyond the classroom, we’ve launched an active ECON Club and organize semesterly trips to Washington, D.C., where students visit government agencies, private organizations, and network with alumni.

Every semester, we host renowned national and international scholars for engaging Brown Bag seminars. We also bring in representatives from various companies to share internship opportunities, helping students gain valuable real-world insights.

We are committed to providing students with the tools they need to succeed in the job market and in life. With your support, we can continue to enhance these opportunities and ensure their success.

Your gift makes a difference! Thank you for your generosity. Please take a look at these photos to see how our students are achieving their goals and making an impact.

Employee Emergency Assistance Endowment

Unexpected financial needs can put incredible hardship on Salisbury University employees, and SU wants to live up to its goal of helping our faculty, staff and others in the SU community succeed.  This program exists to assist SU employees facing financial hardship due to unexpected or unavoidable circumstances.

Your donation toward this endowment will be matched dollar for dollar.

Employee Emergency Assistance Fund

Unexpected financial challenges can place an overwhelming burden on Salisbury University employees. The Employee Emergency Assistance Fund reflects SU’s commitment to caring for our community by providing a way for faculty and staff to support one another during life’s toughest times.

Through this fund, contributions are awarded as grants to employees facing hardship due to unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances. Examples of eligible expenses include:

● Assistance with immediate essential needs such as food, shelter, or utilities
● Significant and unexpected medical, mental health, dental, or prescription costs
● Funeral expenses and unexpected costs following the loss of an immediate family or household member

Thanks to generous contributions that have already been made—matched by a University System of Maryland grant—the fund has been established to provide ongoing emergency assistance support.

When you give, 100% of your contribution goes directly to helping a colleague in need. Together, we can ease burdens, provide hope, and strengthen the SU community.

The Office of Enrollment Management and the team of five primary departments are positioned to assist students and their families from day one, educating prospective families about SU and continuing through the application process, to the onboarding and orientation phase at SU, and then to support students academically, ensuring they succeed in the classroom. The team works collaboratively, oftentimes projects involve multiple units within Enrollment Management as well as across campus.

Enrollment Management is comprised of the Center for Student Achievement; Financial Aid & Scholarships; Orientation, Transition & Family Programs; Regional & Affiliate Operations; and Undergraduate Admissions. Together these offices support University-wide initiatives focused on student recruitment and retention and promotes a warm and welcoming environment that reflects the University’s values of community and inclusivity.
