Re-Envisioning Ethics Access and Community Humanities (REACH)
Support SU's REACH initiative on Salisbury University's Giving Day!
The REACH Initiative is a multi-year collaboration between the departments of Philosophy and Psychology at Salisbury University. We envision a community in which decisions are grounded in a robust ethical practice which centers trust and mutual accountability.
Our mission is to facilitate community-engaged conversations about ethics in a manner which fosters collaboration, transparency, accountability, and meaningful community-informed transformation.
- Building the Network: The Community Ethics Network (CEN) consists of over 300 regional nonprofit or government organizations, small and large for-profit businesses, advocacy and activist groups, faith or religious-based organizations, and individual members in our community who are invested in robust community-based ethical practices.
- Listening Sessions: Network with others with similar experience; engage in conversations about ethical issues in our local community; identify ethical priorities for our community and potential solutions; provide your input into what resources are needed in our community
- Summarize Findings: Colloquium talks, publications, and conference presentations
- Develop Resources: Drop in teaching sessions, case studies for classroom use, and ethics workshops
- Community Distribution: Ethics consultation, moderated facilitated stakeholder discussions, ethics workships, white papers and reports
Rommel Center Graduate Assistantships
The Rommel Center for Entrepreneurship sponsors several assistantships each year to provide hands-on experience to young professionals as they complete their graduate degrees. These assistants are able to experience shared co-working spaces and a "makerspace", while building connections with entrepreneurship competition winners as they work to launch their businesses and products.

Roy S. Perdue Alumni Scholarship
Roy Perdue dedicated his life to supporting students, alumni, and the entire Salisbury University community. As a proud alumnus and longtime Director of Alumni Relations, Roy believed deeply in the power of education and in the importance of giving back to help others succeed.
"When I was attending college in the 1960’s, I was fortunate to receive some generous scholarship assistance. I know how much this lifted the financial burden from my parents and me, so I didn’t have to work long hours while concentrating on my studies. Higher education has enabled me to achieve some success in life, so I decided some years ago I wanted to “give back” to help other deserving students. While I was serving as Director of Alumni Relations for SU, I heard time and time again from alumni, as well as students, the difference a scholarship made in their education. In some cases, it meant the difference between being able to afford to attend classes or not. Shortly after I retired, I made a planned gift to SU to go towards scholarships for children of SU alumni. More recently, I decided to endow my scholarship fund to know that I’m helping SU students today and forever. Many of my family members and friends have benefitted from the great education they received at Salisbury Teacher College, Salisbury State College, or Salisbury University, as it is known today. It is my pleasure to offer a scholarship to the son or daughter of an SU alum who meets the criteria. I hope I might, in some small way, help students achieve their goals, so we can all watch more Sea Gulls take successful flights into the world."
Join us in honoring Roy’s memory by making a gift to the Roy Perdue Scholarship. Your support will help continue his legacy of generosity, community, and lifelong Sea Gull pride.
