Dave & Patsy Rommel Center for Entrepreneurship

The Rommel Center is seeking your support to cover the cost of diagnosing and repairing our only design computer in the makerspace. This specialized computer, essential for running advanced 3D modeling software, has more processing power than standard devices, making it both more capable and more expensive to maintain. The makerspace is a vital resource for robotics, small product assembly, and technology-enhanced products with 3D prototyping, including a textile workshop for fashion and theatre creations.

Your gift will help ensure that future entrepreneurs have access to the tools they need to succeed. Please consider giving to help cover this urgent repair and support the ongoing needs of our makerspace.

Deirdre Adina Campbell Scholarship

Deirdre Campbell graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Salisbury State University in the spring of 1998. Unable to afford all of the textbooks required for a biology major, she often relied on the kindness of fellow classmates, copious notes and prayed that professors would put a copy of the required textbook(s) on reserve at Blackwell Library. Often having to work during and in-between semesters only added to the difficulty of achieving a noteworthy GPA. Proving that GPA is not necessarily an indication of academic ability, commitment or potential, Deirdre went on to complete graduate school with honors and works as an educator, small business owner and clinical research professional.

Financial hardship makes it more challenging to be academically successful due to additional stressors and the uncertainty of access to all available resources. Realizing that those in the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) community frequently contend with this obstacle, the inspiration to create this scholarship was born. Deirdre firmly believes that we are all blessed for the sole reason of being a blessing to others. The hope is that this scholarship will alleviate some of the financial hardship and make college more accessible for students committed to uplifting the underserved BIPOC community.
