🗲⚡ Flash Fundraiser for Study Abroad🗲⚡

All gifts on November 28th will be matched up to $1,000 total, thanks to a generous gift from SU alumna Sabina Roberson ’97 M’99 and Jeremiah Roberson!

Background

During the 2022-23 academic year, 28 students studied abroad for a full semester through one of SU’s ten bilateral exchange partners or through SU’s long-term study abroad partners: the American Institute for Foreign Studies and the School for Field Studies. SU’s goal is to increase that number three-fold to 84 semester-long study abroad students.

Goal

Most countries require foreign students studying for longer than 90 days to apply for a foreign student visa. That cost varies from $125-$450.

Our goal is to raise $5,000 to cover the estimated cost of the foreign student visas for approximately 25-30 semester-long study abroad students at SU during the Spring and Fall 2024 terms
. By alleviating costs, we can help remove financial barriers to study abroad and give students an extra hand with what is a notoriously tedious process of applying for a visa.

Your gift, of any amount, helps our students get one step closer to their dream of studying abroad!

See the testimonials below from some of our recent study abroad alumni about their experience studying abroad!

"Study abroad has shown me that I am capable, and spontaneous, traveling and trying new things on a whim while also getting a valuable education. I also have a new appreciation for people - I always walk away having found some common ground and joy with others. We are all actually quite similar and connected in the end."

-Anna Long (Class of 2023) | Salisbury Abroad: Scotland

"With the help of the study abroad office I was able to accomplish this life changing experience with my best friend. On the weekends I was able to travel to Paris, the Amalfi Coast, Cinque Terre, and explore all of Florence."

-Ellery Stamp (Class of 2024) | AIFS: Florence, Italy

"You're going to learn so much about culture in other countries, how to travel, and how to get around in places where you may or may not know the language very well. It was so memorable and I cannot wait to go back one day!"

-Emma Caulfield (Class of 2023) | Salisbury Abroad: Spain

"The biggest piece of advice I have is to soak up every day. It really goes by so fast. I kept a journal about my experience and took thousands of photos. These are memories you will treasure forever. There is no other college experience like this, and not everyone is fortunate enough to have this experience."

-Monica Bailey (Class of 2024) | Salisbury Abroad: Spain
