Geiser-Simpson Winds of Change Advocacy Endowment
Winds of Change was born as a result of the Geiser family’s personal journey and passion to Break the Silence surrounding child abuse. In 2013, following the disclosure of a loved one, the family’s eyes were quickly and painfully opened to this silent epidemic. It was during the trauma and healing of the weeks and months following that day that the Geiser family realized that although they couldn’t change the past, they could use their experience to help others.
The purpose of the Winds of Change Advocacy Endowment is to support training and education of practitioners, students and community members through the Salisbury University’s Center for Healthy Communities. Child abuse advocacy and awareness are supported through workforce development, professional continuing education, and partner engagement via community service and community-based learning.
