Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics teaches different facets of mathematical science including pure mathematics, applied mathematics, and statistics. They routinely work in partnership with faculty and other students to develop as professionals and to acquire skills necessary to succeed in a variety of future endeavors. We sponsor a number of internships each year where students get first-hand experience in a business, industry or government setting. We also offer a variety of opportunities for undergraduate research. SU hosts an annual Student Research Conference where research results are presented to faculty and peers. We also send students to the National Conference on Undergraduate Research; which SU has twice hosted.
We need your help to provide our students with practical knowledge which can be learned inside the classroom and applied outside of it. Your investment no matter the size, combined with others, will provide hands-on internship experience, new technology, and opportunities for students to attend research conferences.
