Doc Davis Intramural Field Naming
Since being established 36 years ago, Salisbury University Men’s Rugby program has been a staple in American rugby scene. The team is known for its winning tradition and elite fitness, both of which can be attributed to head coach Dr. Robert Davis who is known around Salisbury as “Doc”.
Taking the reigns as head coach in 1993, Doc has coached nearly every Salisbury rugby player in the program history. His mentality to coaching his players is simple, he believes his job is more than to just mold his athletes into good rugby players, but also to develop his players into men of good character, both on and off the field. This philosophy shows with his players’ commitment to their team, and to their coach, who has taught them what it means to truly work towards a goal. Thanks to Doc, Salisbury University Rugby is more than a club sport… it is a family.
To honor his legacy, Salisbury University Rugby alumni, parents, friends and family are joining together to support the naming of the Doc Davis Intramural Field. Your tax-deductible donation will make this naming possible.
