Cross Country & Track and Field Flash Fundraiser

The SU Cross Country and Track & Field programs are fundraising to support upcoming team travel, including our T&F spring break trip and the C2C XC trip to California this fall. The goal is $10,000 and your gift, of any amount, will help get us there!

In a time when budgets are stretched with increased costs in travel, hotel, food and equipment, your gift will help keep Sea Gulls running, jumping and throwing their best. Your gift will not only help our Cross Country and Track & Field teams represent the University with pride, but will keep them meet ready during the season!

Deirdre Adina Campbell Scholarship

Deirdre Campbell graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Salisbury State University in the spring of 1998. Unable to afford all of the textbooks required for a biology major, she often relied on the kindness of fellow classmates, copious notes and prayed that professors would put a copy of the required textbook(s) on reserve at Blackwell Library. Often having to work during and in-between semesters only added to the difficulty of achieving a noteworthy GPA. Proving that GPA is not necessarily an indication of academic ability, commitment or potential, Deirdre went on to complete graduate school with honors and works as an educator, small business owner and clinical research professional.

Financial hardship makes it more challenging to be academically successful due to additional stressors and the uncertainty of access to all available resources. Realizing that those in the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) community frequently contend with this obstacle, the inspiration to create this scholarship was born. Deirdre firmly believes that we are all blessed for the sole reason of being a blessing to others. The hope is that this scholarship will alleviate some of the financial hardship and make college more accessible for students committed to uplifting the underserved BIPOC community.
