LLLR Run Sponsorship

To many, Robert Schultheis was a colleague, a friend or just the person who was always there in their time of need. Rob was a district sales manager for Sysco Eastern MD where he worked for 14 years. He was a proud alumnus of Salisbury University and a past president of Salisbury University Alumni Association. He enjoyed everything life had to offer, especially his wife, children and family. Tragically, on October 16, 2015, Rob was killed while running near his home. A memorial scholarship exists to keep Rob's memory alive, while helping a student with financial assistance at his Alma Mater.

How Can YOU Make a Difference?

Each year, we honor Rob by holding the Run the Boards Like Rob 5k and fun run. Money raised supports the memorial scholarship in Rob's honor. Please consider being a sponsor to continue Rob's legacy. Deadline is October 1, 2025.

Literacy Studies Doctoral Program

Support Ed.D. students on their research journey!

Invest in the future of literacy education by supporting the Ed.D. students as they present their research at professional conferences. As scholar-practitioners, these students lead and innovate literacy learning across Pre-K to higher education contexts. Professional conferences allow students to share their research, build professional networks, and engage with the latest developments in the field of literacy studies.

Your gift directly helps cover registration, as well as travel and lodging costs, making these transformative experiences more accessible to Ed.D. students who are eager to contribute to and learn from the broader educational research community.

  • $25—covers the costs of materials for a conference session.
  • $50—helps with local transportation, such as airport shuttles or public transit.
  • $100—offsets the cost of conference registration for a student presenter.
  • $250 & up—supports affordable airfare and lodging for an out-of-state conference.

Last year, doctoral students presented their research at the following professional conferences:

  • American Educational Research Association
  • Carnegie Project for the Education Doctorate
  • European Conference on Literacy
  • Literacy Research Association

To learn more about the types of research Ed.D. students pursue, check out this article recently published in Re:Search by SU’s Graduate Studies and Research Office.

Join us in empowering SU’s doctoral students to make tomorrow theirs by advancing their professional development—every contribution makes a difference! #EdDSuccess

Literature/Film Quarterly (LFQ)

Did you know that a majority of films are adapted from literature, historical events, and previous movies? Literature/Film Quarterly is the longest standing scholarly journal devoted to the study of adaptation, and we've been publishing work on many of the most beloved films for 50 years! Established in 1973 by Jim Welsh and Tom Erskine, LFQ has been an indispensable forum for both established and emerging scholars to define and redefine the terms of adaptation studies. Edited and published at Salisbury University, LFQ circulates freely and electronically around the world, attracting thousands of readers every month.
